Cinnabon, Inc. is proud to work with Operation Gratitude®, an organization that annually sends 100,000+ care packages filled with snacks, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation to U.S. service members, veterans, and emergency first responders. The organization’s mission is to lift morale and express to our military and their families the appreciation and support of the American people.

Cinnabon® bakeries are helping to send Operation Gratitude care packages this holiday season by collecting donations and personal thank you notes from generous Guests. Cinnabon is also asking its fans to contribute in other ways. Here’s how:

Our goal is to get at least 2,000 comments of thanks but, with your help, we know that we can exceed that goal. Cinnabon Raises More than $56,000 for Troops Overseas

Bakery Franchise Partners with Operation Gratitude to Help Deliver Care Packages

Atlanta, GA (Dec. 19, 2012) – After a month-long campaign to raise money for troops overseas, Cinnabon Inc. raised more than $56,000 through a partnership with Operation Gratitude® as part of its third annual “Hugs from Home” campaign to send care packages to the military.

Throughout the month of October, guests who visited Cinnabon bakeries showed their support for this heart-warming cause by making donations. For every $1 contribution, guests received a $1 Cinnabon® coupon. Cinnabon also made a $1 donation to Operation Gratitude for every foursquare® check-in at a bakery. Since the partnership started in 2010, Cinnabon has raised a total of $160,000 for Operation Gratitude.  

“Operation Gratitude care packages are an expression of enormous respect and appreciation for those who voluntarily put themselves in harm’s way to protect our freedom,” said Carolyn Blashek, founder and president of Operation Gratitude.  “This substantial donation from Cinnabon will enable us to send more than 3,700 care packages this month.”

Cinnabon teamed up with Operation Gratitude to send care packages that included Cinnabon Cream of Wheatfrom B&G Foods®, Cinnabon kettle roasted nuts from Mellace Family Brands® and Johnvince Foods®, and other goodies.

“We’re so proud to work with an organization that supports our troops overseas,” said Cinnabon President Kat Cole. “Our franchise partners, bakery managers and crew members look forward to this fundraiser all year, and we’re proud of the support we received from our guests this October.”

CBS’s Hit Series “Undercover Boss” Takes Cinnabon President Kat Cole through Journey inside Franchise and Distribution Channels

New Episode of Emmy Award-Winning CBS Reality Series to be broadcast Friday, Nov. 16

ATLANTA, GA (Nov. 12, 2012) – As the leader of Cinnabon, Inc., the maker of World Famous Cinnamon Rolls, Kat Cole is used to seeing people smile while enjoying their indulgent treats. But her experience on the hit CBS series “Undercover Boss” helped her clearly see just how many dedicated and talented employees are helping to propel Cinnabon® as a brand. Cole’s journey will unfold on national television as she takes a thorough look inside Cinnabon Friday, November 16 (8pm/7c) on the CBS Television Network.  

“Being with the brand for almost two years, I wanted to go undercover to talk to our employees about what they are dealing with day to day and how the changes our team has made have impacted them, our brand and our guests. This was a unique opportunity to do that without being recognized,” said Cole. “I walked away incredibly proud of our brand and with an even deeper understanding and appreciation for the unsung heroes throughout the Cinnabon system.” 

Cole’s decision to participate in “Undercover Boss” fits well with her hands-on leadership style. She regularly visits bakeries around the world, often surprising employees as she rolls up her sleeves to work alongside them on all sides of the business. She became President of the company in 2011 and since then has become known for her intense and collaborative leadership style. Cole wanted to find ways to improve and grow the Cinnabon brand through the experience on “Undercover Boss.” At age 34, Cole is the youngest “boss” to be featured on the show.

She and other Cinnabon leaders will take what Cole learned and continue to build on the experience. Jobs that she participated in during the show include bakery cashier, machine operator, coffee host and bakery manager. As a result of “Undercover Boss,” several company-wide initiatives have been put into place, such as more efforts toward multicultural marketing, engaging employees in local fundraising efforts and a greater emphasis on product sampling.   

Each week, the Emmy Award-winning “Undercover Boss,” which is just starting its fourth season, follows a different executive as they leave the comfort of their corner office for an undercover mission to examine the inner workings of their companies. While working alongside their employees, they see the effects their decisions have on others, where the problems lie within their organizations and get an up-close look at both the good and the bad while discovering and rewarding the unsung heroes who make their companies run.

Cinnabon Begins Campaign to Send “Hugs from Home” to Troops Overseas

Partners with Operation Gratitude to Deliver Care Packages

Atlanta (Oct. 4, 2012) –Cinnabon, Inc. is partnering with Operation Gratitude® for its third annual “Hugs from Home” campaign to send care packages to our heroes overseas.

Throughout the month of October, Guests can support this heart-warming cause by making donations at participating bakeries. For every $1.00 contribution, they will receive a $1.00 Cinnabon® coupon, valid at participating bakeries until December 31, 2012. Guests can also use their cell phones to support our troops. For every foursquare® check-in to a bakery, Cinnabon, Inc. will make a $1.00 donation to Operation Gratitude, for a maximum donation of $10,000.
